Transfer Student FAQ's

TMU Online strives to offer students a Christ-centered education within reach of all. We aim to keep our costs affordable while providing flexibility for transfer students. Our updated transfer requirements make transferring to TMU seamless and help students graduate more quickly. See our Transfer FAQ’s below:

  • Up to 70 units from a community college. 
  • Up to 94 units from another accredited university. 
  • TMU Online does not accept most associate degrees as full completion of GE requirements. Rather, transcripts are evaluated on a course-by-course basis to determine which courses can be applied to your TMUO degree. Any GE requirements not met by transfer units will need to be fulfilled through TMUO.  
  • Transfer students who have satisfied ALL the requirements for either IGETC (UC or CSU) or BREADTH prior to enrolling at TMU will be considered to have their non-Bible GE class requirements complete. No further non-Bible GE classes will be required at TMU. 

Transfers with ≥ 24 units will only need to satisfy one Bible course per semester of enrollment until graduation. The first five, in any sequence, must be Old Testament Survey I & II, New Testament Survey I & II, Christian Theology I & II, and Essentials of Christian Thought. 

  • Check out our articulation agreement page on the website, where we have a list of schools from which we accept specific general education classes: Registrar | The Master’s University. 
  • If your college is not listed, please submit the name of the college, the name/code/description of the course(s) to registrar@masters.edu for approval. 
  • Only courses with a grade of C or above are eligible for transfer.  

The department chair of the desired major will evaluate each class individually. To do so, they will need the school name, course code, and brief description of the classes you are trying to transfer to TMU. Contact your Admissions Counselor for further information and instructions.
